Important Information About The Advocare Diet Plan

By Alyssa Riggs

Advocare as a company that specializes in weight loss supplements and other nutritional products. The company is based in Texas, and manufacturers numerous weight reduction plans as well. There are several different programs from which consumers can choose. An Advocare diet plan may focus on boosting energy or suppressing appetite. A third option, called the basic package, is a standard weight reduction and exercise regimen that virtually any person can follow.

The details of the plan include three components. These are appetite suppressing pills, multivitamins, and meal replacement shakes. Depending on the package one purchases, he or she may also receive a branded cup in which to prepare the meal replacement shakes, and a tape measure.

Part of the diet program includes an herbal cleansing treatment. This is a supplemental beverage that contains a mild laxative and high amounts of fiber. It is designed to help one eliminate toxins and other contaminants from his or her digestive system. Not all health experts recommend dietary cleanses, and there are conflicting opinions concerning whether or not true health benefits can be derived from such action. However, other experts claim that when approached reasonably, a colon cleanse is not dangerous.

Many individuals who follow the Advocare weight loss program report positive results overall. However, the formula itself is not necessarily uncommon: it provides an appropriate amount of nutrition, which is combined with the consumption of a dietary supplement the form of a pill to curb appetite. Therefore, most people who follow the plan appropriately can expect to lose weight and enjoy a higher level of physical fitness.

Just like any weight reduction regimen, there are both positive and negative aspects associated with the Advocare program. For instance, caffeine is found in the shakes and supplements dieters must consume when following the program. For this reason, certain people with specific health conditions may not be able to take advantage of the plan. An example of this would be someone who has cardiovascular problems or hypertension, as caffeine is contraindicated for such individuals.

Some people also state that when compared to other similar plans on today's market, the package is somewhat expensive. This may be because of the marketing program used to advertise and sell the program. The products are distributed through a venue referred to as network marketing. This kind of advertising uses a multilevel business model where distributors sponsor other individuals and earn money each time a person they sponsored brings another distributor into the network.

With any type of networking business, if one is to be successful with the Advocare plan, he or she must have something called a warm market. The latter is the individual's immediate circle of acquaintances, friends, and relatives to whom he or she can advertise and sell the products and program. However, some individuals find it difficult to sponsor enough people to earn a significant amount of money with this kind of business plan.

Ultimately, each individual must decide for himself or herself if the Advocare diet plan is a good choice. Those who are unsure should speak to a doctor or other licensed health care practitioner before making a final decision about this or any other weight reduction program.
