Good Reasons To Be At Lacrosse Camps

By Arline Bradley

More and more people today have become more conscious of their physical health. Some wish to look great in any outfit, some want to have a buff body. Some are at risk for serious health issues and are trying top avoid them. Every health conscious individual has his or her own reasons, and whatever they may be, staying in shape is an excellent hobby that may prolong your life.

You can indulge yourself in hundreds of ways to be healthy. You can go to the gym and train under a fitness instructor. You can take long brisk walks around the part. You can also make jogging a habit. If you are the type of person who immensely enjoys the great outdoors, then you can go on hiking or rock and mountain climbing. If you want to meet new people you might be interested in joining sports camps, particularly lacrosse camps.

Lacrosse is now a very popular team sport that takes its origins from Canada. Research say that the game was probably started by the natives in 1100 AD and was already very much developed by the seventeenth century. Today it is played by shooting a ball in the goal opposing team by using special sticks to guide it inside.

There are four major forms of the game. There is the field lacrosse for men, another for women, also box lacrosse and intercrosse. The games for men and women are only slightly different to the fact the padding is a requirement for the males. The box type is played indoors during unfit conditions, and the last type is the non contact form of the game.

Playing this game has a lot of good points, one of which is increased mental acuity. Physical activity can divert your attention from problems you may be experiencing. Studies show that at least an hour of physical play is as effective as a small dose of antidepressant, which makes playing the sport beneficial from those who are suffering from depression and anxiety. The more you play, the more your body releases endorphin, the hormones responsible for a happier mood.

It also develops your ability for socialization, since it is a group game. You will be able to develop people relation skills as you and your team think of strategies and carry them out on the field. And since you meet a lot of fellow lacrosse enthusiasts inside the camp, you can widen out your circle of friends to include new ones.

This sport also helps you burn calories and keep your weight in check. You sweat out a lot from those hours of play. You move your entire body during the game. Indeed, this is like working out without feeling like working out. This is a good way for obese people to get rid of all those excess fats and become slimmer.

It also develops muscle strength. Lacrosse requires the use of both hands and feet during the day. Every time you brandish your stick in an attempt to capture the ball, you are working on your arm muscles. All those running will also tone legs. This is a great way to look good without too much effort.

Sports camps and clinics truly have more than enough advantages to have you thinking of joining one of them. You can choose the sport that you like and develop your skills while improving the quality of your life. Get fit and live longer to enjoy everything that life has to offer.
